The colorful paint, ambiance, space (there's enough room to be with people and to be alone. There are plenty of sitting areas, lounge, and dining. There's a clean swimming pool and the breakfast was nice. A simple sandwich and fruit. The ladies are available to do laundry at a fee. My dorm (of 4 beds) was large with a high ceiling and private bathroom. It is located in a safe place, behind embassies, close to shops and just a walk to Coco Beach. The owners are great people, and helpful. They have clean white bedding and free towels (most backpackers charge for towels) which is great!

Location - Location was accurate on the map and it's right next to the mall. Easy transport access to central (Kisutu) and ferry terminal. You can get many busses to different parts of the city. The place - safe and secure where you can meet different travellers. The WiFi works perfectly, it's clean and well maintained and there's running water. Staff make sure everything is functioning properly and has a really good kitchen with all the utensils. The staff are friendly and nice, who are eager to help you and give advice and there's a common room to relax and chill.

Excellent location for a good price. The room was clean and well-provided. The bed is really comfortable. The staff was very nice. He helped me how to reach the airport by bus rather by taxi.

What an oasis of calm Mgulani Lodge hotel offers. Having never been to Dar, we were so grateful of the The Salvation Army Compound this hostel is linked with, offering a space of tranquility in a city that feels like it never stops. It very quickly felt like a home away from home. And the staff were willing to help with anything you asked. It was a real pleasure meeting the team, and even better knowing any money they make off your room booking goes into helping other programmes that the organisation are running in Tanzania.
