Safe. Close to public transport and shops. Nice dark curtains close of each cubicle. Bathrooms and showers were clean and private. Very safe with the access codes. Communal kitchen. Higjly recommend this property for budget travel due to safety, excellent value for money and privacy.

Perfectly located clean hostel in the center of San Francisco. Everything including the restrooms was clean, staff was friendly and parking was included. The morning breakfast in the form of PB & J, eggs, oatmeal, and coffee was tasty and there was enough for everyone. The kitchen was spacy, with big refrigerators and multiple sinks available.

HI San Francisco Downtown Hostel boasts a central location, just a 5-minute walk from shopping and dining in Union Square.

The best decorated hostel I've ever stayed!!! It's just like a music museum! Capsule bed is really comfortable and quiet, enough privacy. Location is really great! Close to bus stations! Really recommend!

Loved everything about this place. The beds were very comfortable, rooms cozy, breakfast delicious and filling. The staff were so so friendly and helpful. Had great conversations with other travellers, met some very lovely people. The stay was just perfect!
