Delicious breakfast, dinner can also be served, also very tasty - Omar is a great cook. He brought us on arrival and departure with his boat. My wife wanted some Egyptian cotton towels - 30 minutes later, Omar brought them to us. Thank you for everything, Omar!

It's a beautiful place and people was extremely nice with us from the moment we arrived, they greeted us with welcome drinks and the best vibes. Ahmed arranged every tour and transportation for us and even gave us breakfast to go for the tours. We had a wonderful experience, we went with my mom that is in a wheelchair and they helped us with everything, They even surprised us with a cake for my mom’s birthday, the best experience that we will never forget. We just wish we had stayed longer!

The host, Biba -brilliant young woman entrepreneur, is incredibly and resourcesful. She was also so kind to upgrade my room. Highly recommended for both solo travelers (they have dorms) and couples, and especially for those who want to support young women entrepreneurs.

A vegetarian breakfast is available at the hostel. Location: Quiet local neighborhood with kids playing on the street around sunset. The house overlooks the Nile. The square in front, flanked by two mosques, has direct access to the river with a small beach for swimming and boat pickups / dropoffs. The main riverside promenade is within 10 minutes walk. There is a proper Carrefour supermarket and ATMs (in the lobby of the Old Cataract hotel next door) on the way. To me, the area felt much nicer and more authentic than Elephantine island. House: Just renovated, the cleanest I've seen in Egypt (especially the kitchen and bathroom). I stayed in a double, which had the necessary amenities. The rooftop is available with pretty sunset views (see attached pic) and a nice chill area, best enjoyed with a tea. Host: Really helpful, English and Spanish speaking, very responsive, with lots of practical travel experience and great recommendations, especially about navigating the local particularities on a budget.
