The common spaces were huge with plenty of room for everyone. There was enough room in the kitchen for ~4 people to cook at once. Lots of kitchen storage and everything you need to cook. The breakfast was a nice spread with toasts, yogurts, cereals, juices. The staff were also very nice. Facilities were cleaned daily and everything was very well kept.

We absolutely loved our time at America Del Sur Hostel in El Calafate! The location was perfect—close to downtown/Perito Moreno Glacier/Lago Argentino, making it easy to explore the stunning natural beauty of the area. The hostel was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

I left my wallet accidentally in the hostel before departure to Peru. The hotel staff Magali messaged me and even willing to arrange courier to BA hostel where I will stay for one night before going on flight back to China. He paid for the courier when he was not even sure whether I am able to pay back (restriction on cross border bank transaction etc.). I am so touched by the kindness and generosity of Magali and I am sure it is the character of Ushuaia people! Thank you all!

My dad and I shared a private room and we were able to reconfigure the beds to have enough room for us and all our ski gear. It was a convenient drive up to the mountain. It seems like it would be more difficult to get to the mountain without a car. But a guy we met was able to take Uber each day. Everyone was super nice and it was so comfortable.

I stopped in Calafate to catch a bus, so this spot was perfect for a quick stay!
