The location was excellent and the hostel overall was really good value for money. Dinner and breakfast were a nice extra. And one free drink was a nice surprise! Good place to meet people.

Welcoming reception even though I arrived few hours before check in official. Allowed to go to my room as bed was ready. Also changed room on request to a larger room. Also able to store my luggage over night as I didn't want to bring it up stairs.

Robert & Anne were wonderful, kind hosts. Full of recommendations for the area. We hope to visit again next time we are in Port Hardy.
Room was spacious and clean. A great communal area to chat with other travellers and the kitchen had everything you could need.

The people who work at the Painted Turtle are wonderful and they go above and beyond to help you. We arrived at the hostel and needed help organizing long-term parking. The manager not only called around and checked for us, he went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. This was outstanding service, the likes you rarely find nowadays.

Everything, staff were very helpful. Allowed me to leave luggage on last day so I didn't have to pull it around town on the last day. The other people in the hostel were respectful and friendly. Felt very safe and comfortable . View from hostel was incredible !
