Great place for families with kids. We even got invited to the dinner with Juan - the owner of the property, and his wonderful wife and friends. Plus we also got a free excursion in the sorrounding garden where Juan grows mangos, avocados, blackberries and meny other fruits. Absolutely recommend.

This was one of my favourite accommodations in Central America. The (single) rooms are spacious with air con and a terrace, there's a pool and poolside bar, and it sort of feels like you're staying in a tropical villa with all the plants and fountains! Jenny at the tour office by reception was helpful to book tours with, and everything is walkable (including El Salto natural pools).

The hostel is situated in a quiet area, but 2 minute walk from the 'center of town'. The vibe is very relaxed, with a garden and terraces where you can sit and meet other travelers. Dorms are relatively small, but all have their own bathroom and there is plenty of room for everyone because you are out and about during the day anyway. The kitchen is big and well-equiped.
At 10:30 p.m., lights and music go out, so the peace and quiet is well guarded. Staff is very friendly. The hostel offers very good and very affordable tours through RedLava Tours, but you can also explore the area yourself with an Uber. La Fortuna is lively, with plenty of bars and soda's but still it has a relaxed vibe. La Fortuna is a great hub for exploring the Arenal volcano, rainforest and hotsprings, so I recommend spending at least 3 nights.

The owner was marvelous. He gave lots of great recommendations for several activities and does not want to sell tours like lots of others. Just perfect!!! This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna.
The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.

The location next to the River is lovely as i could hear it from my room and was very relaxing. This hostel is really good value, the kitchen is great and space to wash and dry clothes is a bonus. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Pura Vibra is still a new hostel however it was a great find, the owner is so lovely and makes the place feel like home. We got so many great tips about the area and a lot of info on the cheaper or free things to do in and around town.
Coffee and tea served each morning and full privacy blinds with a fan in each bunk, luxury when you are backpacking. The place was spotless clean and the kitchen was well stocked - they even had an ice machine!! We loved their little dog too.

We absolutely loved staying at this hostel, everyone there was so welcoming and treated us like family. The hostel is very safe and clean, and they organize activities that you can do with everyone.
