He picked us up by boat and even helped carry our bags to the ferry when we left. The guesthouse is beautifully decorated, with stunning artwork and thoughtful construction. The beds were incredibly comfortable—I had the best sleep of my entire trip. And it’s super clean ( everywhere!) The internet worked perfectly, though we hardly needed it as we spent most of our time exploring. At first, we were concerned about the compact bathroom, but the shower worked great without any flooding. Breakfast was served every morning, and Omar even prepared an early meal for our Abu Simbel trip. We also booked our Abu Simbel driver and airport taxi through him at a fair price, and we felt completely safe. One of the highlights was enjoying breakfast on the rooftop, surrounded by morning birds and the peaceful jungle-like atmosphere. If I could, I’d give Omar a 10+ rating—his hospitality is truly heartfelt, and I hope more people get to experience and support his wonderful guesthouse.

After an unfortunate mishap (scam) from a bus company in Aswan, we arrived tired, sneezy, and grumpy. Quite literally, as soon as we got here our mood turned around. The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The guest house itself is clean with the most beautiful view and lots of shade. We actually ended up eating breakfast, lunch and dinner here during our stay because the food was just that good. This place redeemed the end of our Egypt adventure. A special thanks goes out to Mr Awat, the manager for his hospitality and kindness. We cannot recommend Doroka Guesthouse enough.

This hostel is just about 3 weeks new when I stayed here. Biba, the friendly owner, went out of her way to make my trip to Aswan enjoyable. The photos and description of the place match with reality. There’s a sweet lady who cleans the entire place every day. To my delight, the windows are cleaned both inside and outside so guests can enjoy the view of the Nile. Thanks to Pajama Hostel, my first impression of Egypt has been good so far. This is a women-owned business that I’m happy to support.

The house is clean and comfortable and very well located close the city centre. I would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone traveling on a budget.

We had an amazing time staying at Chams House! My family (3 people) and I stayed for 3 nights. They greeted us with a fruit basket and lemon mint juice, which was such a thoughtful surprise! The house was super clean, spacious, and very comfortable, and the family made us feel at home the entire time. Since we had a lot of luggage, they arranged a microbus to pick us up from the train station, which made things much easier. At first, we were a bit unsure about the location, but the family helped us plan a great program for the 3 days, taking care of every little detail. A big delicious breakfast was waiting for us every morning. We also asked for a homemade traditional dinner, and they cooked an amazing meal for us. The family was so friendly and kind—we had wonderful conversations with them, and they were some of the nicest and most humble people we met in Egypt. They even called the bus station to help us with an issue we had with our bus to Hurghada. The wifi was surprisingly great, I was able to work the whole time freely. But the highlight for us was how authentic and local the whole experience felt. It was so different from anything else we saw in Egypt, and being immersed in the Nubian culture was unforgettable. The islands were beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the Nubian massage my mom, aunt, and I got in the guest house was amazing! They even let us check out late, since our next bus was untill 3pm. We absolutely loved our time at Chams House and would recommend it to everyone. Don’t think twice— I'm sure you’ll love it as much as we did! Thank you to Mr Chams, Mrs Bertuda, Khetamy and the cutest little Anas, you all made us feel at home.
