I note a couple of reviews saying it's not a social hostel but there aren't any social hostels in Valladolid, it's not touristy like Barcelona. This hostel does have a common room and other sitting areas

Then we had use of a kitchen diner, small lounge and a balcony overlooking the river. It was a a lovely evening so we went for a short walk along the riverbank and over the quirky bridge. There were signposts to some really good riverside walks, but we didn't have time, oh well well just have to come back!
