Had a great time with my mom and dog. Was very surprised that it was pet friendly and really appreciated it. The surrounding saunas, cabins and lakeside were wonderful. Hope to visit again next summer!

Built in 1989, this 2-star hostel is within 1.7 km of Helsinki Cathedral and 2 km of Helsinki Central Station. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property. This is my second visit, and i wasn't disappointed, everything clean, good place, quiet, very easy to get there. I recommend this place if you wanna travel with someone or for business or something else.

Bathroom facilities at The Yard Hostel are shared. Everything is how a hostel should be, amazing. I arrived in a cold early November, so it was pretty quiet. I guess this hostel will be busy with a lot of happenings in spring and fall seasons. Location is perfect, 5 .mins walk from the main central station. There's an Irish bar opposite. Can't fault it.

The hostel is 1.8 km from Helsinki Cathedral, 1.9 km from Helsinki Olympic Stadium and 2 km from Finlandia Hall. Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is 15 km away. A little out of the centre but incredibly easy to get to. Exceptional public transport facilities a 2 minute walk away. Rooms are a little small but beds were extremely comfy. Great value for money.
