Clean, good value for this money, met some nice people while cooking together, it’s super warm in the rooms (important during most of the year in Iceland)

Bjarni was an excellent host. He went out of his way to help and made us feel very welcome and this definitely added an extra element to our trip. We were in Dalvik to ski tour and the hostel was perfectly situated for that purpose. It was within walking distance from the supermarket and the excellent Cafe Gisli. The other people in the hostel were also great and we got to know them all quite well during the week. Dalvik is just beautiful and getting up in the morning and going into the kitchen and being greeted with an incredible view across the Fjord was something else! We will definitely be back.

The host is very sweet and welcoming.
The house is in a great location, just a five-minute walk to the whale watching center. The decor has a charming, vintage feel, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. We loved the café on the corner, where the fresh fish soup and bread were some of the best we've ever had. Next door is a century-old cinema with a vintage projector. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend!

The hostel is not located properly "downtown" but only a short distance from the city centre and there is a bus stop (for busses from and to the city centre) in the main street right in front of the hostel (entrance to the hostel from the side street). Very nice and clean common space (lounge and kitchen). Nice and clean shared bathrooms. City busses are free of charge in the Akureryi city area.
Staff were great with the communication prior to our arrival. Kitchen well stocked and rooms clean. Good stopping location between our travel from Husavik to Reykjavík. Safe and warm hostel.
