It’s a very beautiful house with an amazing and welcoming owner! We loved the location and the room, very big and as described! We will be back! Furthermore, the two cats around the hostel are just so wonderful it makes the experience even better.

Tudzura ligt in Kumamoto, op 2,3 km van Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, en biedt een bar, rookvrije kamers, en gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie. Super thankful to be accommodated as a solo traveler. The host and staff are very nice and thoughtful. I was amazed by the interior design, and selection of refreshments/drinks/books here, everything is crafted in details and I can feel their efforts and seriousness. It’s truly impressive to be staying in a historical building and surrounded by wood, while enjoying the neat environment and modern design of shared bathroom. This’s also a good location for people who want to slow down and prefer less busy areas. Walkable distance to tram and JR stations, and the nearby area of Shirakawa River’s definitely nice for a walk. And don’t forget to order fine sake by 9pm if you’d like to taste more!

みーまん奄美 ligt in Amami, op 9 minuten lopen van Strand van Higashi, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis privéparkeren en een bar. The property itself was amazing! There is a lovely common space where you can cook and hang out! The beach right down the street is beautiful and empty and you can rent so many different water activities! Only thing: restaurants around the place are often closed or far away, you can take the bus there (which is going every half an hour until ~19:00) or make sure you have at least something you can eat ready at the hostel so in case you don't find something you are settled. There is a convenience store right next to the hostel.

Shioya Hostel bevindt zich in Akune, op 24 km van Sendai-kō, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. A really lovely place! The room was bright and super spacious, and the shared kitchen has everything you need to cook a nice meal! Also, the owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome 😊

Taketa Ekimae Hostel cue heeft een tuin, een gedeelde lounge, een terras en een bar in Taketa. De accommodatie bevindt zich op 46 km van Oita Bank Dome, 45 km van station Oita en 48 km van Aso... Een heerlijke ervaring! Het personeel is werkelijk super vriendelijk en helpt met het nadenken over opties in de buurt. Ze hebben ook restaurants aangeraden (en voor ons gereserveerd), wat erg fijn was. Een echte aanrader!

Yufuin Country Road Youth Hostel is gunstig gelegen in de wijk Yufuin Onsen in Yufu, en ligt op 49 km van Oita Bank Dome, 2 km van Kinrinko Meer en 27 km van station Beppu. Good view, comfortable beds, quiet and calm environment. I was here 7 years ago, so I'm so surprised that they maintain the high quality of the accommodation for so long time. Everything is as nice as 7 years ago. Appreciate the great effort by the owner.

Yu-suhosuterukikai is gelegen in Kikaijima, op 1,9 km van Strand van Sugira, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren, een privéstrand en een gedeelde lounge. I really liked the couple that run the place. They keep it so clean and the community room is very user-friendly. It was comfortable as a solo female traveler. It’s a great location, easy to walk to the airport, grocery store, and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

Guesthouse Matsuo A is gelegen in Fukuoka, op 16 minuten lopen van Miyajihama Beach en 1,3 km van Miyajidake Shrine, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie... I’m only now writing a review for Shiori place, however this was my first introduction to Japan, and one of our favourite experiences of our whole 2 month trip throughout the country. Not only is she the perfect host, super attentive, open, friendly unbelievably giving , but she went above and beyond what one could ask for from a stranger. After one night we extended our stay and she took us on a tour around the town, to museums, shrines, the beach and we shared several meals together, all of which only made us sadder to leave her. The house is beautiful, has everything you could want from a guesthouse and the traditional interior decoration of Japanese homes. We hope we have formed a friendship for a long time to come and we will never forgot our wonderful stay with her. Please do not hesitate to book, even if it is for a short stay, you won’t regret it.
