The youth hostel is very easy to find, just off the Main Street when you leave the train station. The woman who runs the hostel was extremely friendly and welcoming and let us keep our bags there while we walked around town for a few hours. When it was time to check in, everything was very easy and we could pay with credit card. She showed us to our room and the rest of the facilities in the guest house. It is a very nice cozy house and we had the best sleep ever there. Definitely recommend!

Incredible place. Probably the most comfortable dorm set up I have ever seen. Wish all hostels could copy their formula. Great common area. Tons of room to move around. Everything perfect. Would return again for sure 10/10

We had such a great stay at Backpacker’s House Kamome! We were warmly welcomed by our host who was incredibly kind, always smiling, and really made us feel at home for a few days. As a backpacker herself, she knows exactly what travelers need — the dorm was comfy and really well thought-out, with little things like a multi-port USB adapter, hangers, and cleaning supplies. Plus, she’s always up for a chat, which made the experience even nicer. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the train station, but perfectly located just one minute from Sengen Shrine and the starting point of the Mt. Fuji trail from point zero.
