Convenient location, accessible by tram (Chinatown station), not far to the main tourist destinations, and walkable from Nagasaki station (~15 mins). Room was clean and well-maintained overall. Washing machine and dryer are available to use at a reasonable price. Instructions for usage are clear and easy to follow. The reception / working area offers good views of Dejima and the Nakashima River. I particularly liked their self serve filtered coffee, it’s a nice unique perk that not many guest houses offer.

All units at Guest House & Cafe Yamaboushi include air conditioning and a desk. I loved everything, but especially the experience I had there, mostly thanks to the kindness that Yama-san and Yuka-san showed me. They were so welcoming, as were the other people who stayed at the hostel. The location is beautiful with wide open windows that show the view of the strait. People are lovely and kind. There is a space to cook your own food, which was very convenient! The bus runs through town, so you can easily catch it to go to Izuhara if you want. There are beautiful areas all around Yamaboushi that are great to check out!

The location is incredible, right in Chinatown. There are two tram stops withini 5 minutes of walking, tons of delicious restaurants and fun bars. During the lantern festival, the street was decorated with lanterns and beautiful. The beds were super comfy and the shared bathroom area was always spotless. I will say some of the beds are a bit creaky, but that happens sometimes.

Very lovely and clean hostel, you get your own little cabin which was surprisingly big. The host was very nice, also prepared a cute breakfast. It was also very convenient that you could rent bikes immediately from the Hostel, they had the best collection of rental bikes I've seen in Japan, also the first time I had a rental bike that was not too small for me since I'm quite tall. E-bike is recommended as Nagasaki has many hills and you will get around much faster and with less sweat. If I come again to Nagasaki I will be coming back to Route.
