One of the nicest hostels we've stayed in. Three of us stayed in the Family Room (hostel part of the establishment, with shared kitchen and bathroom, but private room). The room was clean, large, beds were extremely comfortable (quality towels and sheets provided in the hostel part), the bathrooms were fantastic (large stalls that included a sink and space to put your clothes, massive shower with great hot water - seriously, can't believe this was part of a hostel).
The view from the room / just outside the building was stunning, especially at sunset.
The staff at check in (Sonja I believe) were super friendly and welcoming. We met some great people staying at this hostel and really recommend it.
Parking was also easy on the property, and it's a short drive to the viewpoint up the mountain, or down into town with a nice bakery and supermarket.

Arrangements and breakfast were all good but note that the reception does not stay open late so some guests (who did not speak Norwegian nor English) arrived without knowing how to access their rooms. Also was building work going on so car park was unstable and one guest's motorbike fell over causing damage as the stand just sank into the surface. Finally the access road was blocked so if it is when others stay there just take the next turning and go round the block. Simple. Otherwise great place to stay - made good use of the laundry and drying facilities. Staff were great.
