Host was very friendly and helpful. Location is "ocean-front" - just across the road from the beach. The InterCity coach stop is several blocks away - but walkable. Supermarkets are a few minutes away by foot. In brief - a great place to stay while exploring Napier.
The seafront location. The friendly atmosphere. The comfortable mattress. The chatty manager, Arthur. It's rather like an old style youth hostel, with the friendly vibe and the alcohol ban, but without the other YHA restrictions.
Breakfast - good selection available plus hot drink variety
Room - upgraded, clean with comfortable bed, en suite.
Reception - friendly warm reception with a tour of the facilities.
As a backpacker’s hostel, excellent value for money.

It’s a great location right by the seafront and centre of town. There’s cheap all day parking at the end of the street. The lady at the front desk was lovely.
