The hostel is a 5-minute drive from Church of the Good Shephard and a 14-minute drive from Mt John University Observatory. Perfect location, friendly staff, huge kitchen and dining area, good bathrooms, clean and comfortable.

Situated in Lake Tekapo, 45 km from Mt. Dobson, Stay In Tekapo Backpackers has a garden, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities, as well as free WiFi. All rooms boast a kitchen, a TV with cable channels, and a shared bathroom. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests. The bed was soft and comfortable. The room was big and there were only 3 bunk beds so I could use enough space. The room was warm and there were extra bedding as well, anyone can use them. Lounge, kitchen and toilet were clean and I saw the staff cleaning there eagerly. Every staff are so sweet. Location is also good. It might be a little bit expensive compared with other accomodation but I want to stay here again.
