Haka House Bay of Islands is a welcoming and stylish hostel located just across from the scenic Paihia wharf, offering cosy, practical accommodations with million-dollar views of the stunning surroundings. Appreciated the friendly service provided by the staff. Traveling solo, unfamiliar to the area and only a few days to explore, the gentleman at reception had some good recommendations for a bush walk, dinner spot and some exploring on the ferry. The Cell Block Backpackers hostel is a refurbished 1960's jailhouse, converted in to colourful accommodation. The property is in a central location, around 400 metres from Town Basin Marina, the main intercity bus stop and Whangarei Art Museum. It is 500 metres from Claphams Clock Museum. I loved the vibe of both the people and the place. It was such a nice space to connect with people and spend lots of time in the common areas. Plus Friday is amazing!!!
