Amazing place, very clean and spacious. The kitchen is very well equipped (the only thing you don't have is an oven), the bathrooms are clean and modern. There is a very nice lounge area with games, TV, sofa, fireplace as well as extra table and chairs. The rooms are nice and big with comfy mattresses. The sheets and towels are pristine and smell fresh and clean. Finally, the lady is just amazing. We parked our car at a wrong spot (in a steep slop with a fence right in front) and couldn't get it out ourselves, so she called the firemen to help. My partner got sick and was in pain, and we ran out of medication on the Sunday, and she brought some for us right away. She was always very responsive and happy to help with any inquiries. We've been in Portugal for a month now and have been to many beautiful places with lots of very good hosts and this is my favourite place so far! The location is also very convenient with a beautiful river beach not even 800m away, some nice hikes and restaurant around 👍💯

A recently renovated guesthouse in the perfect location. The room was very comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed and very useful to have available. The owner is such a lovely and very helpful man. I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I highly recommend the guesthouse and would definitely stay there again. For a budged hostel, the place is very well equipped, very clean, and spacious. The rooms are comfortable and (at least off season) not crowded, guests are spread evenly into the dorms. Bedding and towels are clean, there are plenty of blankets. The breakfast is exceptional with plenty of choices, to point out the most unique: cake, fresh fruits, yogurt, good coffee. The staff are very nice, friendly, and welcoming. There is ample and quiet public space to work.

Pousada de Juventude da Serra da Estrela is inserted in the scenic area of Serra da Estrela Natural Park. The unit is just 10 km from the nearest ski resort.

good value for money, definitely the cheapest option on offer when I visited. it’s a family run building, and Joao was kind enough to pick me up at the bus station with his car! it’s conveniently located, you can walk everywhere, nice view of the city from my room, a big kitchen to cook meals and decent bathroom. Cozy room with lots of natural lights, mattress is not the best but the towels were the softest :)
