Lost Garden Apartments are located in a unique alpine farmhouse built in 1850, which we fully renovated by 2025 while carefully preserving the original charm of the historic building. The furniture in each apartment is crafted from the house’s nearly 200-year-old beams, giving every room the warmth of natural wood, the touch of history, and the authentic atmosphere of a traditional alpine home. The property is set in a quiet valley at the edge of the forest, right beside a crystal-clear mountain stream. Guests are greeted not by city noise, but by the sound of flowing water and the scent of the woods. The windows face the forest and the hillside, offering different moods in every season: snow-covered pines in winter, green forest paths in spring and summer, and golden leaves in autumn. The house has three floors. TWO-ROOM APARTMENT - On the ground floor: the entrance is through the shared ski room. This level hosts the first apartment with two double bedrooms, a living-dining area, and a separate bathroom and WC. APARTMENT WITH TERRACE -The first-floor apartment: is accessed from a 40 m² terrace and features two double bedrooms, a living-dining area, and a bathroom with WC. ONE BEDROOM LOFT APARTMENT:staircase from the terrace leads to the top-floor apartment, where a spacious living-dining-kitchen area awaits. From here, you enter the bathroom/WC, and a ladder leads up to the gallery with a cosy double bed. All apartments offer modern, premium amenities: fully equipped kitchens, spacious bathrooms, wood interiors, and inviting living spaces. The region is ideal all year round: – in winter, nearby ski areas, sledding runs and authentic alpine atmosphere await, – in summer, hiking routes, mountain viewpoints, streamside relaxation and fresh alpine air. We are Vendler-Simon Katinka and Vendler Balázs – the founders of the Lost Garden Apartments. Coming from a fast-paced urban entrepreneurial life, we retreat to the forest whenever we can. We chose the quiet of nature – and with it, the desire to show others that there is a place where the mountains slow down time. We designed our apartments exactly as if we were living in them ourselves: natural materials, handcrafted details, warm and tasteful interior spaces, and a forest-facing view where the night sky and the sound of the mountain stream create a truly calming experience. We are not aiming to serve mass tourism – our place is for those who long for peace, the scent of the forest, and the stillness of the mountains, yet appreciate clean, modern comfort. We believe the mountains do more than relax you – they give space for clarity and inspiration. For us, this house is not just accommodation, but a place to breathe, think, and reconnect. Forest walks, starry nights, quiet mornings, warm lights and good books. Öblarn is a charming alpine village in the Enns Valley of Styria, surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Gumpeneck (2226 m) and the Grimming (2351 m). The village combines traditional Austrian atmosphere – with a baroque church and historic main square – with modern conveniences such as shops, restaurants and medical services. Its central location makes Öblarn an excellent base for exploring the Schladming–Dachstein region. In winter, guests benefit from the proximity to Ski amadé, one of Austria’s largest ski networks with 5 regions and 760 km of slopes. The famous “4-Mountain Ski Area” (Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen, Reiteralm) offers perfectly groomed pistes, modern lifts and reliable snow conditions. Families enjoy the nearby Galsterberg with beginner slopes and a floodlit toboggan run. Planneralm and Riesneralm offer natural, quieter skiing and freeride opportunities, while Ramsau am Dachstein is a world-renowned cross-country skiing centre with over 220 km of trails. In summer, the region becomes a paradise for hiking and nature lovers. Trails range from easy family walks to demanding summit tours, including the Gumpeneck and the routes of the Sölktäler Nature Park. Cyclists can explore the Enns Cycle Path or tackle the alpine mountain-bike trails; the Planai Bike Park in Schladming is a major attraction for downhill enthusiasts. Additional summer activities include swimming in the warm Putterersee, white-water rafting on the Enns River, the spectacular Gröbming zipline, and various family-friendly educational trails and nature programs. In winter, ice skating, horse-drawn sleigh rides and the traditional “Öblarn Krampus Play” – part of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage – create truly memorable experiences.
