All linen is provided. Washing powder is provided for the washing machine. Dry your clothes inside on a clothes' airer, or in the garage using pegs provided. After living 8 wonderful years in this amazing community of Coober Pedy, hubby and I have now stopped paid work and are Happy Wanderers in our caravan...enjoying the great outdoors! We love to travel too. Our fabulous cleaners live in our dugout next door to Ali's Underground. Coober Pedy is the opal capital of the world, with an amazing lunar landscape, an underground lifestyle and fascinating natural history. Free Underground museums/displays are found at the Desert Cave and Umoona Museum, both in the main street. Opal shops abound on both sides of Hutchison Street and each as very different. A MUST is a visit to the Serbian Church - make sure to switch the lights on at the front to the left of the stained glass + venture upstairs to find another carving in the wall past the baptismal and get a stunning view back down on the carvings at the front. Ali's Underground is right above the Catacomb Church. Visit 24/7 and go right up to the wooden cross and 'look up' to see how far underground you actually are! These, and the Catholic Church never. close. A drive out to the beautiful Kanku-BreakAway Park is best in the mornings by heading (have the sun on your back for best views) towards Oodnadatta then turning left through the BreakAways and along the Dog Fence. The second lookout, just down a track to the right of the big first one, will take your breath away. If you're heading north afterwards, keep driving west to the Stuart Highway.
