Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Lovingly restored and modernised cottage (dating from 1895), providing up to 4 adults a peaceful and relaxing stay. A short stroll from Chiltern village and its old-world, gold mining heritage, you can explore gifts and curios as well as enjoy food and refreshments.
With links to the wine industry, you are nestled between 3 wine regions, with wineries 20 minutes away. Visit local wineries, then enjoy a glass (or 2) back at Mortimers Lodge on the veranda or under the vine canopy.
We would be delighted to have you stay at Mortimer’s Lodge. A delightfully restored cottage originally dating from before 1895, with lots of its own unique history, close to a quaint gold-mining village and nestled among 3 different wine regions for you to explore.
Positioned on a quiet residential street. The cottage is located on a corner, and is surrounded by mature gardens.
A short stroll into the village and also a 10 minute walk to Chiltern Train Station. Off street parking available from two separate entrance ways, one on each street. 15-20 minutes from Rutherglen and 20-25 minutes from Beechworth. Chiltern is located just off the main Melbourne-Sydney route, the Hume Highway.
