Heritage Accommodation within a garden .We have used the ‘Arts and Crafts’ approach to garden design to create a garden that is in harmony with the historic 1830’s stone house and the surrounding unique outbuildings. The accommodation cottage sits within stone wall enclosures with borders of flowering perennials. This garden has evolved into a series of “garden rooms” that lead from one area to another. The walled ‘topiary garden’, picking and potager garden, the white garden and the hot garden each have their own distinct personality while still providing that connection back to the house. Dovecote style henhouse, aviary, potting shed and English style conservatory embellish these different areas. A pergola with a variety of climbing roses leads to the sculptured “elephant hedge”and Urn walk, which overlooks the “ha ha” and the more naturalistic garden encircling the lake. All this is set within a landscape once described as “the vision splendid”.
Thankyou for staying with us. We hope you enjoy your stay in this most beautiful part of the world that is Tasmania.
