River Bend Retreat is a hand crafted hideaway with two cosy cottages on the banks of the Blackwood River. It it is set on 50 acres of farmland, native bush, and beautifully kept gardens, on the banks of the Blackwood River. Perfect for switching off, soaking up the scenery, and just breathing in the fresh country air. Whether you’re chasing some proper rest, planning a bit of adventure, or just want to get back to nature for a while, River Bend Retreat is a special spot that welcomes you with open arms. It is home to two cosy hideaways, Birdsong and Blue Wren, each offering their own little slice of peace and quiet. Surrounded by trees, birdlife, and the gentle sounds of the river, both are set up to help you settle in and feel right at home. Birdsong, a three bedroom, one bathroom cottage with plenty of space to spread out and relax. With comfy bedrooms, a generous living area, and lovely views of the surrounding bush, it’s ideal for families or a few friends on a weekend away. Wander out to the verandah with a cuppa, listen to the birds, and let the river’s steady flow do the rest. Just a stone’s throw away is Blue Wren , a light and airy two-bedroom, one-bathroom stay that’s perfect for a couple or a small family. With all the modern comforts and a warm, homely feel, it’s a great spot to slow down, sleep in, and enjoy the simple pleasures. Morning walks, river dips, long lunches on the lawn, they all hit differently here. There’s more to discover around the property too. The Barn is set up with table tennis and darts. Little ones will love Ned, a charming cubbyhouse made from an old train carriage. And for quiet moments by the water, head to the Lookout, a peaceful spot where you can sit back, enjoy the view, and soak up the sounds of the river. Kayaks (Waiver required for guest use).
