I'm a Media Producer and Marriage Celebrant in Mittagong, NSW. My husband and I have two kids and we know what it's like to travel with small kids. My husband owns an art gallery in Sydney - hence all of the beautiful art on the walls. I worked for a few years on luxury superyachts in Europe and the Caribbean so I know what makes a great host and travel experience.
Mittagong is the best! It's the gateway to the Southern Highlands so it's super convenient to both Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong. We love the excellent dining options, great cafes and proximity to supermarkets, butchers and pharmacies (and bottle shops). We are close to world class Mountain biking trails as well as numerous bush-walks straight from the front door to take in glorious 60ft and 40ft falls. If you're feeling fit, climb Mount Alexandra for a spectacular view to the Blue Mountains or simply relax with the kids at Lake Alexandra. We are super close to most Southern Highlands wedding venues so it's ideal place to stay as a wedding guest.
