Unwrap the magic of Tocumwal Chocolate School and discover an unforgettable escape that’s as relaxing as it is inspiring.
Hi, we’re Wendy and Martin Alford, the proud owners of Tocumwal Chocolate School. Our journey to creating this unique retreat has been one of passion, persistence, and a deep connection to Tocumwal.
Our story began many years ago when we were married in this charming town and celebrated our wedding at the Heritage Centre. After years in Melbourne, we decided it was time for a tree change, returning to Tocumwal to build something special.
What started as a dream to open a chocolate shop transformed into the Tocumwal Chocolate School—a place where guests can fully immerse themselves in chocolate-making, culinary delights, and the beauty of the Murray River region. Wendy brings years of experience as a Master Chocolatier, sharing her passion for chocolate through hands-on classes and tastings.
Martin, ever the visionary and hardworking support behind the scenes, ensures that the outdoor spaces and lagoon areas, including glamping and the refurbished pedal boat, are always welcoming and ready for guests to enjoy.
Together, we poured our hearts into designing every aspect of the school and glamping retreat, from the cozy interiors to the outdoor spaces that showcase the stunning beauty of Whites Lagoon. Wendy’s creative vision and Martin’s meticulous attention to detail make this a true labor of love.
We also believe in creating a space that feels like home—whether you’re unwinding in your glamping tent, preparing a meal from our gourmet Glamping Packs, or enjoying an adventure by the lagoon. Every element of your stay has been carefully considered to give you a luxurious yet personal experience.
We’re excited to share our story, our passion, and our little slice of paradise with you. Whether it’s relaxing by Whites Lagoon, learning something new in one of Wendy’s classes, or simply soaking in the peace of nature, we hope your stay leaves you with wonderful memories.
