Rose Park is located about a kilometre east of Adelaide's central business district, immediately adjacent the Parklands. It is a leafy suburb with tree-lined streets and many Federation-style villas. While the area is mainly residential in nature, it is a short walk to the Dulwich Village with shops, cafes and restaurants, with the Norwood, Burnside and Unley districts just a short drive away. There is good public transport, with three bus routes through the small suburb. There is plenty of free on-street parking, and the house itself has off-street parking for three cars.
