Baku is a wonderful city. Particularly the fact that it was being maintained with great effort , keeping it so clean & tidy. The city has wonderful land scaping with great buildings - Old has its own history & the new with modern state of the art - structures.
Nizami street is a wonderful area for variety of food.
The people are very helpful & welcoming.

Its a beautoful city with lovely streets, shopping, restaurants, cafes. It is facing the Caspian Sea and given its position it can be quite windy. People are also very friendly and sweet. Languages mostyl spoken are Azeri and Russian, and a little English. Getting around is best and cheaper by booking cabs on the app Bolt, which can also be used to order food delivery.

Baku is a charming city with a wonderful mix of old and new.
Baku is a charming city with a wonderful mix of old and new. The locals are proud of their culture and happy to show it to the visitors. The city is clean and well maintained and they have some stunning architecture. The old city feels like entering a time warp into the medieval era with its fortress and stone buildings and just outside the old city walls the city is bustling modern life with latest technological advancements.
For local cuisine visit any restaurant inside the old city, while fast food joints are found around Fountain Square. Main Nizami street has good restaurants but there are smaller and more pocket friendly kabab and Asian cuisine restaurants in the smaller bylanes off Nizami street.
Overall a visit to Azerbaijan is highly recommended to experience its rich history.

We went to Baku on a private family matter.
We went to Baku on a private family matter. It is a fascinating city with a mix of old and new. The old city is very interesting and well preserved. They are not fully geared to tourism sometimes getting around can be a challenge. English is spoken but Russian is more common. People are friendly. Getting to Baku from Manchester is gruelling especially given flight times we used Turkish Airlines via Istanbul: the airline itself was excellent planes were clean flights punctual and friendly staff. Next time we might consider going direct from Heathrow. Day trips from Baku look interesting but we didnt have time to take advantage of them.

I like the stay in Qusar, and Shahdaq Mountain.
I like the stay in Qusar, and Shahdaq Mountain. I like the hike in a snowy forest in Qusar. I like the cable car ride in Shahdaq mountain. and I love the food in La Quzu restaurant in Old City. I like the Bolt taxi when I travel around the city. When you rent a car and drive around, make sure to mind the speed limit as speed cameras are all over the place whether you are in the city or the countryside. I love the friendliness of the locals, they are always willing to help when you ask.
The friendly helping staff and perfect location right on nizami street opposite starbucks coffee, about 30m fountain square,KFC,Macdonald,Pizza Hut,StarBucks Coffee,Pual Coffee, 3 Indian Resturant, Indian Hyderabadi resturant, Shourma House, Baku Corniche walking, Baku boulevard, old city famous double gate all in 50 to 100m circle of this Hotel. Equal 7*. come down from the hotel and you are on Nizami Street. i recommended to all. you will see by your eyes when visit to nizami st. you will believe on my every words.
Great location of the hotel with super helpful, hospitable and kind stuff, nutritious and delicious breakfast. The receptionist was always eager to help. Definitely worth to make a stopover at this hotel if you want to discover the city and spent couple nights in Baku. We also used the transfer from the airport service which was the best decision ( reasonable price, the driver met us right at the arrival, helped with luggage, showed and told a bit about the city)
We again reselected this nice hotel as ever in our Baku business trips. Our choice didn't mistaken ourselves in accordance with the great kind asssistance of the hotels very well experienced staffs; Mr. Nizami, Mr. Coshgun, Mr. Jalal and the others. I am thankfull to the management of the hotel to employee and continue to co-operate with.
The beds of Deluxe rooms are perfect... Close to city centre where you can reach easily with Bold in a few minutes...
The location is perfect for enjoying the city. The suite room is the best one in the Hotel and the staff is superb especially Renat who helped us with airport transfers and Shahdag transfers. The balcony is perfect to sit out and have a cup of coffee. There are stairs to reach the hotel so it's a good idea to remember that, the staff help you with the luggage on stairs and have a lift for the luggage too. A great place to enjoy our stay in Baku
I have stayed in the DJ Old City Hotel 3 times. Two times during the summer, in June and the third time in September. The hotel is a great deal, the price corresponds to the facility. The most important is the stuff and the manager - are amazing people. They are very helpful, polite and make your stay as at home. If you need a good, cosy and moderately quiet place to stay in Baku, I highly recommend you to choose DJ Old City hotel.
Very nice hotel.
The rooms are big and has any thing inside them, the hotel staff is very nice and will help you with any will that you may have.
The hotel it locate on top of the city so you have the best view of the city 😃
It a bit far from the center compre to other hotels, but the "Bolt" taxi app is very cheap, so it change nothing.
Worte any $$
Special thanks to Elgun
The rooms were super clean, more than 5 star hotel
cozy hotel , the location is near everything
there is large kids park in front of the hotel.
coffee shops, restaurants, supermarkets.
the breakfast was fresh and tasty , like homemade
i would thank the manager Natalie for helping and guiding us
for sure if we come back to baku , I won’t hesitate to stay there again
The location is a bit far, its could be counted as both the good and bad part about this hotel.
Good so that its away from the city centre traffic / crowd. Bad that it takes a bit of time to get to the city. However you can easily get taxis/ bolts for for less than 5 USD to the city.
The rooms are VERY spacious. The breakfast is not the best but its okay.
Outstanding location in the Baku Old City, huge rooms, very clean and comfortable. The desk staff were friendly and very helpful - special shoutout to Orkhan & Valid. They helped with a SIM card issue I had and very kindly called ahead to Sheki to book a room for me at the Caravansari Hotel (that you cannot book online). Highly recommended!
I loved how city center this hotel was, legit a lot of stuff were basically walking distance from me, I would certainly come back to this hotel, if I do come back to Baku. Also, the hotel staff probably has one of the best hospitality that I have ever experienced out of any place that I’ve been to so far, no exaggeration.
One of the best hotels at baku. We stayed for 6 nights and it was perfect experience. The staff for reception, room service and restaurant are so kind and professional, food & breakfast are delicious and it’s worth to try it. Room service is prefect and they take immediate actions. Rate is 10/10 and we will comeback ♥️
The bed and the pillows were really comfortable. The room was spacious and nice. The toilet was good too. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast selection was great. The hotel was within walking distance from the beach side and also the city centre. The old city was within 20-30 minutes walk.
Illkin, Illkin, Ilkin… this is the name to remember when you go to Baku tour hotel and hostel. He is wise beyond his age and customer service personified. The others Hamza, Ali ,Rashid are not far behind. They made sure my stay was pleasant. Gave me amazing ideas and tips to explore the city
Good hotel for couples and family travellers. The staff is one of the best I've seen in all my travels! The rooms had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Baku is a magnificent city worth visiting. Leaving this city with a feeling of longing
Very good hotel and location is fair with 10-15 min walking distance to City Centre. services are good and the staff were attentive and responsive. Rooms are clean. I’d like to thank Mr. Samir and Mr. Hussain Habib for their help and services.
