Child-friendly: Children are treated like royalty here. There is a cot for the little ones. Older children can count sheep from a bunk bed. Our beds are thoroughly Belgian and sustainably produced, as is our bed and bath linen. The linen is made from flax, a natural fibre with a particularly small ecological footprint. This allows you to enjoy a pure night's sleep and drift off blissfully. Sweet dreams! Our holiday home has been carefully and lovingly decorated with sustainable materials and Belgian furniture from Buitenhuis, our Outdoor Living furniture store in Sijsele. The spacious living areas are bathed in light and provide the ideal setting to recharge your batteries. The dining and living room is the heart of the house and overlooks the terrace. Here you can relax after a brisk walk, enjoy an aperitif or read your book in peace. In the modern kitchen, you can enjoy the same comforts as at home. There is a stove, a microwave, two refrigerators, a freezer, a toaster, an oven and a dishwasher.

From the charming Buitenhuis - Outdoor Living in Sijsele, my husband Frederik and I run a comprehensive outdoor concept with a strong focus on garden architecture, landscaping and design. Buitenhuis has been active in garden landscaping for 20 years: driveways, terraces, planting, fencing, gates, earthworks, irrigation, outdoor buildings, swimming pools, ponds, carports, patio covers, ... Our designs combine aesthetics, functionality and sustainability, enabling us to transform gardens in the region into unique, atmospheric outdoor spaces for decades. Since Corona, we have also been presenting a beautiful collection of outdoor furniture and trendy accessories, such as garden lighting, pottery and fire elements, with a strong focus on Belgian craftsmanship, in our cosy conservatory. Together with our daughters, Héloïse and Romanie, we have created a warm and harmonious home in Buitenhuis, in the middle of idyllic Damme. In addition, we make our Atelier Laurus conservatory available for various occasions: Ceremonies · Weddings · Farewells · Photo shoots · Seminars · Workshops · Get-togethers · Communions/spring celebrations/christenings, etc. Many photographers have also found their way here. Behind the three furnished rooms, we also have an unfinished, robust space that photographers love. Hospitality plays a big role in my life. I love to welcome friends to our home, especially in the summer, when we fire up the barbecue to enjoy long, atmospheric evenings. This ties in seamlessly with my culinary passion, which last year resulted in her cookbook Fire Dining, an ode to outdoor cooking and bringing people together around the fire. In February, my book was reprinted by Lannoo.

The Bruges Ommeland has no less than 930 km of cycling routes. Here you can really disappear into nature. But you can also be in Bruges, Sluis or Knokke in no time, to get some fresh air by the sea.
