Fien De Causmaecker, the host at Stil 1827, is one phone call away for any questions or concerns arising during the stay. Besides hosting the guests, I am a professional textile designer and an arts teacher. Together with her husband Jonas De Man, who is an amazingly talented chef, they run a gourmet restaurant Tafel Twaalf a few meters away from the property, offering the culinary delights predominantly from the regional produce. It is an absolute culinary gem! Stil 1827 breakfast is prepared by and served at Tafel Twaalf every morning.

“Het Waterland” is the name of the beautiful local region full of flora and fauna around Stil 1827. Located in Meetjesland, East Flanders, it is a region not necessarily on a touristic path. Which makes it perfect for Stil 1827, where one can truly relax and unwind. However, Het Meetjesland & the neighbouring Dutch Zeeland is a cyclist’s paradise, where gentle paths ramble past crystalline creeks and verdant fields. Whether you want a quick one-hour workout or a strenuous all-day adventure, this scenic region has a cycling route for every rider. Stil 1827 offers a secure bike storage area, e-bike rental (fees apply) as well as e-bike charging stations for guests. Scattered around our property lie several spectacular nature reserves with a diverse display of native flora and fauna. Easy-going hiking routes slither between these lush, untouched landscapes, perfect for slow-paced exploration. Visit Het Zwin, Waterdunen, or the Polders to wander along the most endearing local trails. Should you wish to embark on a city trip, Ghent or Brugge are just a short drive away.
