My kids loved the games room. It was their favourite "hotel" they've ever stayed at.

We had a good breakfast, the room allowed for a good cup of coffee to be brewed. Thee owner was a delight to talk to, suggesting a local pub for Dinner with local entertainment (Apparently best on Fridays).

It is a building that used to be a school. It was renovated and now it is like B&B. The owner Paul was very friendly and helpful. They serve continental breakfast that was quite good. This property was the best option for this money. There is a...

It's not fancy, but it had what you need. It suited me just fine, got a good sleep and lite bite before heading to the national historic site on the morning.

This was a great family place being an old school with a games room, library and gymnasium. 80's vibe. Quiet despite all of the amenities.

A very convenient location for our visit to L'Anse aux Meadows. The room was very spacious and Prime TV was a bonus. The host was very friendly and had good recommendations on restaurants and places to see.

Property information

Norse Skol Accommodations includes a boutique hotel and RV/Camper park. The name has a double meaning - "Northern place of welcoming (as in the traditional "Skol" greeting)." The 2nd meaning is "Northern place of learning". The 2nd meaning is relevant because we are located in a former K1 to Grade 12 school! There are surprises here that you would rarely see in any other hotel - one being the library. We also have a full size gymnasium to occupy the kids after the long journey up here. We have all kinds of rooms and suites - something to suit everyones needs. The Provinces most mysterious trail starts right at our property - St. Brendans Trail. There is a playground next door and a basketball court across the road. The only pub, Skipper Hots, anywhere in the entire region is just 10 minutes away - every Friday is Newfie kitchen party night with music, dancing and Honorary Newfie Inductions. L'Anse aux Meadows is only 12 minutes away, as is Norsted Viking Village. Come stay with us for a unique experience.

Neighbourhood information

Relaxed and very laid back. Our traffic jams are 5 cars in a row. Wild life sightings are common for moose, Arctic rabbits and caribou. May and June is giant iceberg season. July and August is whale season. If you are here in April, you have a good chance of seeing Polar bears that float across from Labrador. The local scenery is stunning and varied. There is even a moonscape close by. We are only 15 mins from the World Heritage site of L'Anse aux Meadows - Viking landing site some 900 years ago. There are several excellent restaurants close by, offering tasty fresh local cuisine. There is a real Newfie pub 10 mins away with live band every Friday. Our local restaurant, The Daily Catch has live music at 6.30 daily in season. If you need supplies, our general store, Burdens stock just about anything you are likely to need. You will find the locals to be very friendly - don't be afraid to chat with them.
