Surfside Surfside is a charming community on Playa Potrero where many expats live permanently (in particular Canadians), and where visitors can choose from a wide range of elegant vacation rentals, appetizing restaurants and lively bars. Located between the towns of Potrero and Flamingo, Surfside is an eminently walkable village where the beach is never more than a few blocks away. Several tour offices offer a variety of adventure tours by land and sea, and real estate offices will be happy to show you your next home in paradise. Attractions you won’t want to miss include the beachfront Sailing Center (restaurant, bar, pool, sailing packages and scuba lessons); the popular Perlas restaurant (a high-end roadhouse/sports bar with big-screen TVs, live music, and great wings, burgers and pizzas); the Cervecería Independiente craft brewery between the two; and other local eateries including El Castillo, Fat Daddys, the Shack and the Beach House.
