About this property

Dating back to 1612, this historic, family-run hotel in Oberammergau combines traditional and modern styles, offering rooms with WiFi and flat-screen TV. The country-style restaurant serves hearty Bavarian cuisine. The Hotel Alte Post features a characteristic Bavarian façade with traditional window shutters, overlooking a relaxing beer garden. Inside, the newly renovated rooms offer comfortable furnishings and a private bathroom. The Alte Post’s rustic restaurant, complete with wooden beams and characteristic Bavarian décor, serves a tasty breakfast buffet each morning. A selection of wines, beers and other regional dishes are also available. Ski and luggage storage, car rentals and packed lunches for daytrips are offered at the Alte Post Oberammergau. The surrounding area offers footpaths, theaters and is famous for the Oberammergau passion plays. Day trips to Neuschwanstein Castle, a 45-minute drive away, can be arranged.
