Bessemerstrasse is located near Westpark, an impressive green space that stretches across the former site of a steel mill. Westpark is an excellent example of the transformation of industrial wastelands into vibrant leisure and recreation areas. Here you can go for a walk, go cycling or simply enjoy the diverse flora and fauna. Another highlight of the area is the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum, a former industrial hall that now serves as an impressive venue for concerts, theater performances and other cultural events. The Jahrhunderthalle is also part of the Route der Industriekultur, a network of industrial monuments in the Ruhr region that showcases the region's history in an impressive way. The city center to the north is also easy to reach and has much to offer in terms of both culinary and shopping opportunities.
