Our house has undergone several changes over the centuries. Originally it was used as a dwelling house for clothmaker families and due to its direct location at the brook it was used for wool washing and dyeing. Later it also served as a smithy and brewery. Now, with a lot of passion and attention to detail, between 2018 and 2020 we have gently and ecologically revitalized it and converted it into a holiday home. Our aim was to create a refuge for well-being with a high quality of living by combining historical and modern elements. During the renovation phase, we have gained so much pleasure from our house, the historic town of Monschau and the people who live here that we have become citizens of the town ourselves. Furthermore, we can now enjoy our fondness for hiking in all trains. We wish all guests of our house a wonderful stay and much joy in and with the house!

You will live in a newly renovated, over 300 year old, listed half-timbered house with quarry stone cellar and your own garden. It is located in the middle of the historic old town of Monschau, very romantic by the Laufenbach, directly at a small waterfall. The AUSZEIT offers you an enchanting, very high quality furnished ambience with historical elements in combination with modern interior design, cosy chill areas, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, rain shower, guest toilet, open kitchen with cooking island, a garden directly at the brook, free W-LAN and everything you need for your time out.

Monschau is located directly on the edge of the Eifel National Park in NRW, in the middle of hilly greenery. The Eifelsteig trail leads directly through the town centre, which you can enter at a distance of 100 m from the house. You can also start other countless, beautiful hikes or bicycle tours in the nature directly from the house. Monschau has a very special charm with its almost completely preserved historical old town and the two streams Rur and Laufenbach. Until today the narrow alleys and the slate-covered half-timbered houses remind of the glory days of the cloth makers. Enjoy coffee and cake in one of the many cafés in the village. Visit the museum "Rotes Haus" (landmark of the town) and immerse yourself in the life of the great cloth makers and their splendid home décor or enjoy a visit to the art and culture museum KUK, take part in a guided city tour or take some time out in the backyard with a glass of wine and listen to the sound of the stream...
