Set in a river valley 10 minutes to the south of Cómpeta, Casa Redonda is a tranquil retreat. Surrounded by Avocados, Mango, Olive and Almond trees this quiet location allows you to relax and escape the stresses of everyday life. Centrally located, Casa Redonda is a converted water tower, 10 minutes by car from the beautiful whitewashed village of Competa , 20 minutes to the Costa del Sol beaches and 40 minutes to Málaga airport. We have recently completed building work to ensure that all areas used by our guests are entirely private, for their own use and not shared with anyone. These spaces include the apartment and private access, a private terrace directly attached to the apartment , private access and use of the pool area, outside kitchen area, covered dining area and pool. There is no air conditioning at the moment but we supply fans for your use. We live on site on the ground floor, have our own private area and only share the car parking area with guests. We have mango, avocado, lemon, figs, olives and orange trees on our land and you are welcome to pick some fruit when it is in season. Please do not pick fruit from our neighbours unless it is offered to you.
Suzie and I moved from the UK in 2020 to enjoy the warmer drier weather after 20 years of living in Cornwall. The upstairs floor of our house is a self contained two bedroomed apartment with a private terrace and stunning countryside and mountain views. We live on the ground floor with our two dogs Teddy and Roman. Teddy is a Golden Doodle, 9 years of age and very chilled and relaxed. Roman is a young Mastin cross that we rescued at 7 weeks of age. He is now 18months, very playful and boisterous and still testing his boundaries. We keep the dogs separate from any guests. English is our main language but I have now been learning Spanish for 4 years and can manage most Spanish conversations. Suzie has been learning since January 2022 and needs the confidence and practice in talking. We are happy to engage with guests as much or as little as you want. If you want any information on the area we are happy to provide this. We have had some new terraces created on our land below the house and I can usually be found working there. Suzie enjoys sewing and is often in her sewing room. Please ask her if you would like to see some of her work.
The area is primarily agricultural with access tracks to the various trees, crops and other properties. Please respect people´s privacy but there are large areas to explore. The access road to the house is very steep from the main road but there are two alternative routes that we can show you if the steepness is a problem. There are two or three goat herds in the area which are taken out by the farmers on a daily basis, sometimes close to the house. You will probably hear them before you see them with the bells around their necks. There is a Tourist Information Office in Cómpeta
