The Portal is the name people gave to this house as early as the mid 19th century. It is a rustic house built on the city walls by peasants with farmlands in the Moratalla valley that has been modified over time to accommodate modern tastes. For example, the fireplace was in the nineteenth century and until the mid-twentieth century the kitchen of the home, but it now has a wood stove insert and the modern bedroom on the top floor was a dry storage space for local produce throughout the year .
The astonishing views of the valley, its proximity to hiking trails, and to the center of town make this quiet house a very appealing refuge away from it all and with easy access to some of the best natural landscapes Murcia has to offer. This two bedroom house, with terrace and fireplace, has a unique location on the north slope of the Moratalla castle. It is a spectacular rural refuge that will transport you to the simple life of a town in Southern Spain. It is a cozy space that has preserved the authentic architecture of the area, stone, wood and plaster, but at the same time it offers all modern comforts: gas stove and oven, washing machine, wrought iron fireplaces, shower with hydromassage, down duvets, electric heaters. Here you can spend a nice weekend, a full week, or just a few days in the company of your partner, your family, or your friends. Overlooking the Alhárabe and Segura valleys, different exploration routes of the area can be started on foot, bike, or car from the house.
