La Restinga is a fishing village located at the southernmost point of the island of El Hierro and of the whole of Spain. The main points of interest of this town are the variety of its seabed and the calmness of its streets and coves. A perfect place for those looking to relax on a beach in the sun, far from the large tourist centres. A beach protected from the waves by the harbour breakwater that makes it the ideal option for the whole family. Diving in the Mar de las Calmas There is a wide variety of restaurants where you can savour fresh fish recipes and food outlets and supermarkets. In addition, diving enthusiasts will find numerous diving clubs from which to explore the Mar de las Calmas, one of the most famous diving areas in the Canary Islands. There is also a museum that includes all the information about the underwater volcanic eruption that took place just three kilometres off the coast in 2011.
