We the owners of this Historic Heritage Site and private Monument, are a family with Swiss, irish and Andalusian roots, very much involved in the business, though we are based in the Costa del Sol (Málaga). We have a team of helpful and friendly staff looking after the guesthouse and monument, and taking care of our guests and cultural visits. I am the supervising manager, and am personally present especially on most weekends. Having travelled a lot for my work in int´l publications, I have a wide vision of life. I love history, nature, culture and the arts. HAVEN OF TRANQUILITY: A very unique privately owned 15thCent. restored Carthusian monastery , in the midst of the Sierra Norte Natural Park. The gueshouse & the entire historical site have a unique structure, a mix of styles and influences (Moorish, barroque, gothic y rennaissance). The panoramic views towards the hills and valleys are spectacular, the place has a special joyful quiet ¨sanctuary¨ feel . Ideal for retreats, contemplation, relaxation and nature watching (star and bird watching). The rooms are inside the original Laymen cells, built fro 1416 onwards. Rustic chic in style, they offer the guest comfort and restfulness. With good matresses, with nice views towards the cloister, gardens, or roof tops. The ceilings are of old handmade bricks. The beautiful setting offers nature trails in the forest and to The Valley, access to the Ribera del Huéznar situados only 5 kms away. The village of Cazalla de la Sierra is situated 3 kms away, there are many options of where to eat, what to see (The roman Cerro del Hierro Iron mine, Ermita del Monte church, museum and factory of Anís liqueur, local produce shops, neighbouring villages.

El potencial turístico de la zona de la Sierra Norte, sierra morena sevillana, es grande. Está Cazalla de la Sierra, el pueblo blanco, con plazas bonitas, edificios hermosos emblemáticos , y buenos sitios donde comprar productos de la tierra (vinos, chacina, quesos, miel, aceite, licores, etc) y dónde tapiear y comer. uno no se puede aburrir en la zona. Está la Ribera del Huéznar a 5 kms del monasterio, con su Vía Verde de 18 kms de largo, sus sitios donde comer (El Martinete, Batán de las Monjas), zonas recreativas como La Isla Margarita (bosque suspendido) y el Molino del Corcho, los pueblos de San Nicolás, Alanis, Constantina, El Pedroso, Guadalcanal, la mina antiquísima del Cerro del Hierro, la playa fluvial en verano de San Nicolás, las cascadas del Huéznar. Se pueden hacer rutas a caballo y alquilar bicicletas a escasos kms de la Cartuja.
