Villa Mar by Isla Canela Beach has a FABULOUS PRIVATE HEATED POOL! - Optional Pool Heating has a small additional charge and is powered by an ECO-FRIENDLY AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP. It is a great pool for children and adults of all ages due to its large size for swimming and the gradual Roman steps which lead into a shallower end. It is in a fully enclosed and very private garden with a very popular built-in BBQ. It has TWO shaded outdoor seating / dining areas - one with stunning views over the pool and nature reserve "marismas". The house has new SUPER FAST FIBRE-OPTIC INTERNET / WIFI. It is only ONE MINUTE WALK FROM THE BEACH!!! Villa Mar has soft black leather furniture in the lounge, large dining table, a computer desk, stylish marble floors, granite kitchen work-tops and a SOLAR-HEATED HOT WATER system.
My family has spent many fabulous holidays in Isla Canela - in summer and at other times in the year. The children learnt to windsurf and kite-surf on the beach and in the shallow water at low tide. We used to fish for mussels ("almejas") with our feet in the sand and often waded out to the sand-banks which come out at low tide. We still walk and jog on the beach and love the contrast of walking along empty pristine beach towards the east or westwards towards the many fun beach bars, "chiringuitos", which offer seafood, tapas, coffee, beer, wine, cocktails ...
There is a broad sea shore promenade in Isla Canela along which you can walk or cycle for miles - all the way to Punta del Moral at the other end of Isla Canela. There is also a cycle track inland towards Ayamonte where you can find lovely little shops, plazas, tapas bars, walking streets, restaurants and a beautiful marina with boats of all sizes. (A 10 mins drive). A picturesque ferry can take foot passengers or about 6 cars over the Rio Guadiana to Portugal and the Algarve (20mins crossing from Ayamonte). Seville, with one of the most characterful "old towns" in the world is only 1 hour drive from Ayamonte. Seville airport is 1.5 hours drive away. Faro airport is 50 mins drive away. The Doñana wildlife and bird nature reserve is a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE and is 1 hour drive from Ayamonte.
