The OVO Network team’s opinion - Chalet Arpitania is a three-storey chalet for 14 guests, with five en suite bedrooms, an indoor pool, sauna and steam room and several south-facing balconies and terraces. The seating area is set apart from the dining area, and both have a fireplace and doors on to the balcony/terrace - and the views are breathtaking! Each of the five bedrooms has its own shower or bathroom - a real bonus for a large group. We particularly like the two suites on the top floor, which each have dressing areas and a balcony with great views - a great way to start your day! The real highlight of this stunning home has to be the pool and spa area - the indoor pool is big enough to get some real exercise, but when it's time to party, there's a bar area with a kitchenette, which opens on to the terrace! Skiers and boarders will be spoilt for choice when they stay at Chalet Arpitania. The ski bus stop just 50m from the door, giving you access to the 220km of slopes in the La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Le Croix Fry area. If you’d rather take the car, the Bossonnet parking and lift in La Clusaz is just 1.9km away. There’s plenty to do for non-skiers too, with an ice-skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. In the summer, walks start right from your door - hike into Les Confins, where you will also find a nine-hole golf course and fishing lake, or let the telecabine ferry you and your bike into the mountains, so you can come back down at your own pace. The mountains around La Clusaz are criss-crossed with tracks and paths, so there is always somewhere new to discover. Other activities available in the area include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding. If you just want to relax, why not soak up the sun on the terraces or balconies as you admire the mountain views, or take a dip in the pool at Chalet Arpitania? Later, fire up the barbecue and plan the next glorious day in the Aravis mountains as the sun sets over the mountains. There is a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants in La Clusaz, and you can pick up fresh produce, at the weekly market. There are larger supermarkets a little further afield in Thônes. The ski bus links La Clusaz to Le Grand Bornand and Manigod, making it easy to get around. The beautiful lakeside town of Annecy is just a 30-minute drive away, and is a great destination for a day out. With a great calendar of festivals and markets, there is always something going on. Lake Annecy is said to be the cleanest lake in Europe and in the summer it’s a lovely place for water sports, cycling and swimming. Why not hire a boat to explore the beaches, perhaps stopping at lakeside restaurant for lunch?
