The house was built in about 1700, probably as farm buildings for the Manoir. People lived on the ground floor and the valuable grain was stored on the first floor, so we have huge oak beams and the original oak floor. Once upon a time there was an apple orchard in the field and a cider press, as well as a small dairy. Now the field is home to our small flock of sheep.

Apart from Mont St Michel, there is a wealth of Mediaeval and WWII history in the area, with Dinan, St Malo, Fougeres and Avranches all within 40 minutes drive. We are right on the edge of the Polders, land reclaimed from the sea, and there is some lovely level walking and cycling around the Polders.
