A house. Some grapes. Time moves slowly, and the wind knows better than to rush. You didn’t come here to change. You came to simply be. We’ve made space—quiet rooms, clean air, and just enough distance. All you need to bring is a little weariness. We’ve kept the rest for you. To you, who hasn’t arrived yet. Hi, it’s me—JANÉA. I’m a quiet little guesthouse sitting next to a vineyard. And I have a few things I’d like to say. First of all, I won’t shout about how amazing I am. You really don’t have to come. I get it—not everyone dreams of waking up to birdsong, stargazing from a deck chair, or watching grapes grow for fun. But here’s the truth: If you don’t come, you might just miss something kind of... perfect. You might miss a vineyard that actually breathes. Views that look suspicious like desktop wallpapers. A black forest outside your window, saving you a front row seat to zone out. We’re not close to the city. Which means: no honking, no rush, no buzzing phones. Just wind, birds, and the sound of your mind taking a well-deserved nap. And don’t even get me started on the night sky— Stars line up like it’s a parade, the moon doing her runway walk, and a Milky Way that looks like someone spilled wine across the sky. Speaking of wine—ours doesn’t whisper. It sings. One sip and even your problems will want to toast. I’m still here. The wind still dances, the grapes still grow, and the wine is still being made. That’s all you need to know. And that little bird once stared at you is still on the window, still humming. Take your time. I’ll be waiting. Your JANÉA
I’m JANÉA, a little blue guesthouse tucked into the hills of Alsace, France. Surrounded by vineyards, cradled by gentle slopes, and softly nudged awake by time itself— it sounds like a French love song, but really, that’s just my everyday life. You want to know how I came to be? Well, I’m the result of a story that stretches across languages, cultures, and rows of grapevines. My creators are Melinda, a traveler from Taiwan who’s wandered through the world with her soul wide open, and Bernard, an Alsatian winemaker who basically grew up drinking grape juice straight from the barrel. Back in 2019, they poured their dreams into something real. That something… was me. Built by a romantic dreamer and a down-to-earth winemaker, I’m like a glass of wine you didn’t expect to love—but somehow, it’s just right. I’m not a tourist hot spot. I won’t be in any “Top 10 Must-Sees.” But I do have the seasons: In spring, dreams whisper at your window. In summer, the breeze carries your worries far away. In autumn, the air gets tipsy with wine-scented comfort. And winter? Winter just sits beside you in silence—and somehow, that’s enough. The wind that blows through my vineyards brings with it the scent of sun-warmed leaves… and sometimes, pieces of the life you’ve been quietly trying to escape. I’m here for wandering souls, and for those who just want to do absolutely nothing for a few days. You can watch clouds. Count hills. Lie on the ground and pretend you’re a grape soaking up the sun. No one will stop you. Everything here takes its time—just like good wine. So if you’re looking for a place to breathe again, or just a change of view to watch the stars and listen to the wind speak, I’ll be right here, on a hillside in Alsace, quietly waiting for you to find me.
✿ Spring in Alsace Spring awakens the vines and paints the villages in bloom. Wander the cobbled streets of Eguisheim, one of France’s most beautiful villages, or stroll through Mittelbergheim and Andlau, surrounded by budding vineyards. Don’t miss SlowUp Alsace, a car-free wine route day for biking and walking with vineyard views. ☀️ Summer in Alsace Summer brings warmth, festivals, and full vineyards. Explore Colmar’s Little Venice, enjoy local wines on the Alsace Wine Route, or hike the nearby Vosges hills. Outdoor cafés, flower-covered windows, and golden fields make every day a postcard. 🍂 Autumn in Alsace Golden leaves and harvest festivals fill the air with scent and celebration. Join wine harvest events in villages like Riquewihr and Kaysersberg, or visit Folie Marco Museum in Barr for a touch of Alsatian history. The vineyards glow in warm shades of yellow and orange—perfect for slow walks and storytelling. ❄️ Winter in Alsace Winter in Alsace is magical and intimate. Experience the world-famous Strasbourg Christmas Market, or explore the cozy Christmas scenes of Colmar and Kaysersberg. In Barr, enjoy quiet village strolls and a glass of warm mulled wine as the hills rest under soft skies.
