Gîte des Lavandes & neighbouring Gite des Roses are surrounded by gardens, giving an abundance of room to sunbathe in the gardens which have glorious sun from sunrise until sunset. (Sun beds provided) For the children, under the walnut tree we have a play area equipped with two swings, a glider & climbing rope ladder. Private BBQ area to enjoy cooking outdoors, however the kitchen is well equipped to cater for most dishes. Dining table indoors & outdoors both seat 4 comfortably, the outside one positioned on the terrace overlooking the gardens. Parasol for shade. A high chair & travel cot are available free of charge (please bring your own cot bedding). One double ground floor bedroom, one small double click clack sofa bed in the lounge with an additional sofa too. Shower room with washbasin downstairs, the toilet is accessed separately from the double bedroom. The open plan kitchen/dining/lounge has a comfy sofa, a sofa bed, flat screen tv, DVD player, DVD’s. Books available too. If you are bringing pets, please remove all pet waste in all areas.

Hello & welcome to Gîte des Lavandes, in the heart of the French Countryside, situated in the pretty village of Oradour Fanais. This area renowned for its sunflower fields in the Charente is a hidden gem. Life can be as slow or as fast as you make it. All involved with Gîte des Lavandes loves France and this particular area of France. Enjoy the beauty that the Countryside can bring to your holiday. We have tried to make the Gîte has comfortable as possible, so it feels like home from home. We have a large selection of DVD’s to watch if you so wish, both children’s & adults. Both English & French ones. We also provide a selection of books. The accommodation has heating if it gets chilly over the Winter months. Pets welcome but please wipe up any pet waste inside the gite and outside. Cot & high chair provided free of charge. Private parking within the grounds accessed through the large black iron gates. Room here also to park bicycles if you bring them. Friendly locals make holidaying here a pleasurable experience. Take a stroll along the country lanes, ride your bike around the tree lined roads, soak up the atmosphere, stopping at the local bar for a cold beer or glass of wine.

Gite des Lavandes & Gite des Roses are situated near to the grocery shop (fresh baguettes & croissants daily) (the grocery store is closed on a Monday) & bar which hosts live musical events periodically, accompanied usually by a burger van, pizza van or fish & chip van. There is also a post office, taxi rank, electric charging station, and petrol pumps. All essentials close to hand. A little further afield approx 10km away in Availles Limouzine, there is a patisserie/boulangerie, butchers, mini market, cash point, the river Vienne runs through it, with water sports available along with an outdoor paddling pool, mini golf, & play park. There are restaurants & snack bars here too, for a lovely day out. Larger supermarkets can be found in Confolens & Bellac with an abundance of restaurants and shops. Confolens also has the river Vienne, with Kayaking and pedalos, along with Velo rail. Zip wires & tree climbing, along with bungee jumping can be done in L’isle-Jourdain not far from here. Lots of lakes locally which have man made beach and restaurants for a fun filled day of swimming & sunbathing. Fishing lakes, Circuit de val de Vienne is close by for keen motor sports enthusiasts. Brillac has a outdoor swimming pool, & shop too and is also a few km's away.
