Please read this entire blurb. La Maison de Riviere has been completely renovated with restful colours and décor intended to help you relax and enjoy your vacation here. It is fully equipped with modern conveniences and appliances. The house is a fully independent, self-catering property. Beds are ready-made-up with 100% cotton linens, and towels are provided for bathing. Swimming towels can be rented for 5 euros per person. They are large bath-sheet size. There is Shower Gel and Shampoo and toilet paper in the bathrooms too. You can expect to find all the basics, including butter, milk, oil, salt and pepper, foil, baking paper and plastic wrap. You will find cleaning supplies and paper towels. You only have to supply the food you will eat during your stay. Our Welcome Folder includes plenty of information on where to go in the South Charente, and all of the Markets available to you. This is a fabulous location for walking, biking and kayaking/boating. Most of our guests enjoy swimming in the river during the warmer months. An excellent Formule lunch is to be had at La Maison du Passeur, the Depot de Pain/Café/Restaurant 2 mins walk away. Treat yourselves to a Michelin Star meal right next door at La Ribaudiere. There is a large, private and shaded garden a few steps away down a private alley, with outdoor furniture and games. There is a designated swimming spot opposite the house, with a rope swing for hours of fun for the entire family, and a Golf Course 3kms away, across the bridge.
