Brest is a harbour town located in the west of France on tip of the Breton peninsula. It is a perfect stopover for tourists travelling along the coast of France.
Whether sightseeing by car, tram or on foot, be sure to find some time to stroll around the old streets of Rue Saint-Malo and the historic quarter of Recouvrance, which houses the Recouvrance Bridge. Brest’s main street, Rue de Siam offers a different perspective with stylish shops and chic cafés.
Brest Castle, Tour Tanguy and the Museum of Tour Tanguy are definitely worth a visit, as are other local attractions like Vallon du Stang Alar and Océanopolis aquarium.
The Brittany region is famous for its fresh seafood along with Breton beer and Muscadet wine, which can be sampled in the cafés, restaurants and bars of Brest.
You can fly direct to Brest Bretagne Airport via major cities such as London, Paris, Bordeaux and Barcelona. Check out Booking.com for the latest hotels, apartments and B&B options in Brest and Brittany.

Public transportation to/from airport are poor, and poorly indicated. Taxi drivers charge exorbitant rates; in addition taxy service is definitely substandard. Lastly, though no less important than the rest, staff at first Hotel (Cit Hotel Breast Gare) nearly ignores basic English. Shop and restaurant attendants do no speak decent English as well. I would keep this spot out of my tour itinerary in the event I should travel again in Finistterrae

Brest is a nice town to visit for 2-3 days. I highly recommend taking City Pass Parcours Ocean for 2 days from local Tourism Office and visit all the landmarks that it covers. My personal favourite was 70.8 - Gallerie Océan. If the weather is good, you can take a boat that goes along the coast line for around 30 euros.

1 day in Brest sounds like the right duration.
1 day in Brest sounds like the right duration. Enjoyed the river views between fort de brest & atelier des capucins. Enjoyed the naval museum inside fort de brest. Strolling by the marina was also nice.
Tramway is very modern & clean.
It was Sunday , so couldn't experience any shopping.

Brest is quite touristy and appealing for lovers of both Breton and Francophone culture. There is lots to see and do, including visiting museums, visiting the beach, wandering around the city, and shopping! Visitors ought to eat crepes salées (or savoury crepes) in a local creperie. Public transport is excellent - the best option is to buy a €4.00 all day ticket if you aren't local or don't have a KorriGo transport card. Brest is a vibrant, welcoming city on the French coast and well worth a visit!
Is hard in France to find family rooms and this one was perfect for us, as we traveled with our 6yo and it's definitely not an option to take a second room for me OR my husband only. One double bed and two single beds located in an actual mezzanine.
The jacuzzi (under réservation) and the breakfast buffet were appreciated during our stay.
Plenty of parking space.
I will be staying here in any future trip to Brest.
The location is excellent, the room itself was generously sized and clean. It was quiet but the whole hotel was quiet. There was a live music event that night but I think the staff were careful to allocate us a room as far away as possible so it was no problem.
This is what you'd think of for a French hotel circa 1965 - cage lift, bell on reception, real key, bistro atmosphere and red velvet.
Newly done house, we stayed at the top floor enjoying the bay view and sea breeze. The apartment is modern, clean and spacious with all the comforts. The host was exceptionally nice, accommodating and caring. One of the nicest parts of Brest within walking distance from the beach, restaurants and bars. Also, walking distance from the sailing centre.
Great location especially if you need to hop onto a boat which is docked in harbour. A short 10min walk into town up the hill. Not too strenuous at all and a lovely park at the top. Recently refurbished hotel and spotlessly clean. The aparthotel concept was very good, with plates, pots etc and allows for making meals.
A beautiful 3 bedroom apartment on the top floor, overlooking the harbor. The apartment was fully equipped with high end (Siemens, Bosch) appliances, 3 bathrooms and a large living room. The apartment had been renovated recently to a very high standard. I would definitely book it again if I come back to Brest.
Very easy to access from the train station once you've figured out the bus system. Arrêt Français Libres and the hôtel is just there. Nice and very helpful staff. Nice view from the room. Very central to see Brest. Small but comfortable room.
it's in a very accessible place, direct from the outside of the city, view on the harbor, the spa is great and the pool is clean. The bed are confortable, and the room is clean. The hotel got a restaurant and a bar on top of the building
Nice and central location in Brest. The staff was both very helpful and really friendly, and gave us good advice on nearby restaurants. The breakfast was good, lot of choices, and the cheeses offered were splendid.
The staff were very kind, provided useful information on everything that we needed. They are a real asset and a big plus for the hotel. The location is excellent, close to everything and very convenient.
