Public transportation to/from airport are poor, and poorly indicated. Taxi drivers charge exorbitant rates; in addition taxy service is definitely substandard. Lastly, though no less important than the rest, staff at first Hotel (Cit Hotel Breast Gare) nearly ignores basic English. Shop and restaurant attendants do no speak decent English as well. I would keep this spot out of my tour itinerary in the event I should travel again in Finistterrae

Brest is a nice town to visit for 2-3 days.
Brest is a nice town to visit for 2-3 days. I highly recommend taking City Pass Parcours Ocean for 2 days from local Tourism Office and visit all the landmarks that it covers. My personal favourite was 70.8 - Gallerie Océan. If the weather is good, you can take a boat that goes along the coast line for around 30 euros.

1 day in Brest sounds like the right duration.
1 day in Brest sounds like the right duration. Enjoyed the river views between fort de brest & atelier des capucins. Enjoyed the naval museum inside fort de brest. Strolling by the marina was also nice.
Tramway is very modern & clean.
It was Sunday , so couldn't experience any shopping.

Brest is quite touristy and appealing for lovers of both Breton and Francophone culture. There is lots to see and do, including visiting museums, visiting the beach, wandering around the city, and shopping! Visitors ought to eat crepes salées (or savoury crepes) in a local creperie. Public transport is excellent - the best option is to buy a €4.00 all day ticket if you aren't local or don't have a KorriGo transport card. Brest is a vibrant, welcoming city on the French coast and well worth a visit!
This hotel is in a good location for exploring the city. It is within walking distance to several restaurants and bars and location attractions. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good with a good selection. The room was small and clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room was on the backside of the hotel and very quiet. There is a limited number of parking spaces available underground for small cars and a fee. I would stay here again.
The size of the room: I thought it would be smaller but is was perfect. I also liked that they dressed the room each day. It is never the same when you do it yourself.
I have no fault for this place. The staff are super friendly. The place is clean and spacious, very close to the centre of Brest. Breakfast is GORGEOUS. Ten out of ten for l'amirauté Brest. I will be back!!!
The room was comfy and clean with a stunning sea view. The hotel is great if you can ignore it's rather concrete brutal exterior. We really enjoyed the quietness of the area not a sound at night to disturb our sleep. The staff were also very hospitable and helpful. We had to change plans and this was not a problem. We did not have the breakfast so can't comment on that.
Great location especially if you need to hop onto a boat which is docked in harbour. A short 10min walk into town up the hill. Not too strenuous at all and a lovely park at the top. Recently refurbished hotel and spotlessly clean. The aparthotel concept was very good, with plates, pots etc and allows for making meals.
This is a small and very basic Hotel in the centre of Brest, everything was very clean and working. There is also a small café and Tobacco store attached. I did not book a breakfast, but the friendly owner invited me for a free coffee in the morning. Overall, very good value for money.
Simple but perfectly acceptable hotel in an outlying neighbourhood of Brest very close to the bay.
Ample and clean room with good bathroom.
The hotel is situated in the midst of the green and has a wonderful view of the yacht port and beach below.
it's in a very accessible place, direct from the outside of the city, view on the harbor, the spa is great and the pool is clean. The bed are confortable, and the room is clean. The hotel got a restaurant and a bar on top of the building
A nice, clean, conveniant hotel at the center , near to restaurants, shops and coffee
the bed was very convenient and the crew was lovely. there is a parking place at the hotel with an extra payment but you have to order in advance.
The location was central
The staff were very helpful and friendly
The room was a very good size
I would recommend the Vauban to anyone visiting Brest in France
Warm staff, very helpful. Clean and comfortable room. The hotel has a lot of character and it has an excellent location. It was a very good choice in Brest!
