MaCoCo is a peaceful environment where you can come at ease. Even if you choose to have a relaxing pool day. Our pool, surrounded by a pool house, outdoor kitchen, several terraces, sitting areas, … are a perfect fit. Thanks to our world-renowned 3* neighbour chef, Gilles Goujon, our village is known all over France, but our region has so much more to offer. Lovers of nature, peace, comfort but also culture, gastronomy and not to forget wine as well as hikers and bikers: every single person can come into his own. Charging your electric car is possible (for a fee).
We, Truitje & Peter, warmly welcome you in our intimate ‘chambre d’hôtes’, located in Fontjoncouse, the heart of the Corbières. Since we are a chambre d’hôtes who focuses on adults (18+) Having lived in Belgium for 57 years, we have lost our hearts to this beautiful region. People always say 'Unknown is unloved', which is true. We really want to change this. Our enthusiasm is certainly not lacking!
Through the landscape being dominated by vineyards, you’ll have another view every 5 minutes. From Tuscany looks to Ardeche-looking rock formations through to rolling vineyards as well as extensive lakes and beaches. MaCoCo is an ideal starting point for tons of activities. Immediately following our doorstep there are several hiking trails through the garrigue. Your hike will definitely be animated by the luscious presence of herb plants and fauna while enjoying the astonishing views on the shore as well as the Pyrenees with Le Canigou as a highlight. Only half an hour away, there are touristy seaside villages and ‘baignades suavages’ are even closer by. Even several Cathar castles, Terra Vinea, cities like Narbonne, Carcassonne, Perpignan and even the beautiful villages Lagrasse, Bages, Peyriac-de-Mer, … are very close by and are really worth a visit. Definitely put Leucate on your to do; it even offers a unique experience for the oyster lovers. Add to this the countless village festivals and celebrations in summer...who can resist?
