40 Newgate is a newly refurbished comfortable home within the centre of the historic market town of Barnard Castle. The 3 bedroom property is set over 3 floors with a large twin bedroom on the top floor which is ideal for adults' as well as children, the first floor has a master bedroom which is en suite and an additional single bedroom and a family bathroom. There are 2 comfortable camp beds available on the top floor stored under the single beds, as well as a sofa bed in the lounge - extra bedding for those additional beds is available making this property possible to sleep 7. The ground floor is open plan with a lounge, dining room and kitchen. There is a wood burning stove to keep you cosy after a day out exploring the area! There is a small courtyard to the rear of the property with outside seating available.

As well as the famous Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle has an abundance of walks and hiking trails on offer, all within a short distance of the market town. There is a fantastic range of bars, cafes and restaurants, independent shops, a twice weekly Market (Wednesday & Saturday's), and an array of art and antique shops to enjoy. Barnard Castle is a short drive to some of the most outstanding scenery and attractions in the North East of England such as the North Penines, High Force Waterfalls and the Yorkshire Dales for walking, as well as an hour or so drive to Durham, York, Newcastle and Harrogate - all of which offer great attractions for children and adults. Wet 'n' Wild UK Water Park, Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley Theme Park are some of those attractions making Barnard Castle an ideal location for families.
