Argyll House is a small bed and breakfast set in the beautiful, coastal village of Westleton. It dates from 1749 and has been added to throughout the centuries.
All our rooms are en-suite and equipped with WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities, towels, hairdryer, USB charging points and TVs. There is a guest lounge, and our breakfasts are freshly prepared from locally sourced ingredients, where possible, served in the guest dining room.
We bought Argyll House in July 2020, and it needed complete renovation, from new roof to rewiring through out and a brand new central heating system. We were well aware of what we were taking on - the leaking roof, the rotten timbers, the damp, no heating, melting electrical wires, the 'bathroom of death' and the hall (which we're pretty certain they used in the film The Shining?).
But here we are, a year on, Argyll House Bed & Breakfast!
We couldn't be more proud of how far we've come and the accommodation we have created.
We love hosting and meeting so many different people. We also take daily advantage of the walks that surround us, and a dip in the sea is becoming a regular occurrence.
We look forward to meeting you when you come and stay with us and sharing all that the beautiful Suffolk Coast has to offer
Westleton benefits from a pub, a well-stocked village shop, tea rooms, an art gallery, book shops, garage and a post office; all within easy walking distance.
We are close to the world renowned Minsmere nature reserve and the legendary town of Dunwich. We are also in the middle of one of the few dark sky areas in the UK, making for some magical star gazing evenings.
Nearby are the lovely sandy beaches of Walberswick, the bustling towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh, and the wonderful Snape Maltings. The Market towns of Woodbridge, Framlingham and Beccles are only a short drive away and easily accessible.
We are only 2.2 miles from Darsham Train station which has direct links to London Liverpool Street and beyond.
