Ashburton Court Guest House is situated in the heart of the Ashburton, just minutes from the beautiful town centre. This is a Grade II listed Georgian Villa (think Bridgerton vibes!) built in 1810! It has seen many changes over this time, as a prominent lawyers home, a Hotel, a family home, a Cookery School, and now our home and your home-from-home. Many of the original features remain to retain the character whilst offering many modern luxuries we all enjoy. We offer 7 guest ensuite rooms, one of which is a self catering apartment. Our Breakfast Room and Orangery are the heart of the house for guests. Delicious, fresh and locally sourced treats are served each morning; a buffet of fresh fruits, locally produced breads, various cereals, freshly baked croissants and local eggs cooked to order. Ashburton is known as the 'Gateway to Dartmoor' and the 'Town For All Reasons'. We are blessed with excellent restaurants and pubs, the famous antiques trail, individual independent shops, tea rooms, artisan baker, a lovely fish and general deli, wine merchant and ice cream parlour. There is a vibrant arts & crafts scene in the town, hosted in the numerous art shops & galleries. We're also just a short walk from the Ashburton Arts Centre, hosting musicians, artists, dancing, theatre and discussion from around the world. Walk in the other direction and you reach the renowned Ashburton Cookery School offering lessons to all abilities from 1/2 day workshops to 4 month long certifications. Aside from all that we are on the edge of Dartmoor where you can run, walk, cycle, horse ride or just sit and relax, 20 minutes from the English Riviera, Dartmouth and Salcombe and numerous sandy beaches yet only 25 minutes from Plymouth and Exeter. Outside of the town there are many wonderful pubs and restaurants catering for all tastes within a few miles of Ashburton Court waiting for you to enjoy. We can't list everything there is to do within a stones throw of our threshold so we hope you'll pack a sense of adventure and willingness to relax or try something new or get lost! Best thing to do is just come & join us! Being an old house we do not have on site car parking. Don't let that put you off! There is unrestricted parking along East St. The long stay car park in town is less than a fiver for a 24 hr period, just a 5 minute walk away and on weekends there are a number of open use carparks just a minute or twos walk away.
